On DVD I saw Pi which hurt my eyes and Birds of America, which was not based on a story by Lorrie Moore. It had Chandler from Friends and Genifer Godwin from Big Love.

I saw It's Kind of a Funny Story and Catfish with my son last night. I preferred the latter, he the former. Funny Story seemed too comforting to me--dealt with big issues and made them feel very manageable. Catfish dealt with smaller issues and made them feel somewhat manageable. Good performances in both. I didn't hear this song at Hardly Strictly Bluegrass this weekend, but I found it via the festival in a roundabout way. Roseanne Cash's blog (linked in the video info) about writing the song is maybe better than the song.

I saw Requiem for a Dream on DVD and Twilight: Eclipse in a theater this weekend. Both romantic stories about the things we do for love, the first more grim than the second.
