I’ve learned something very important, very free-ing.

I’m not linear.

While that will come as no surprise to anyone, nor the fact I become so uncomfortable and dissatisfied when I try to fit in the box and within the lines, I never took it that next step.

If I am not linear, why the heck did I ever believe my writing could be?

Don't "kill your darlings". File them away. You never know when you will find a spot shaped just like something that doesn't fit where you want it today.

You sound happy and productive. That makes me happy.

You know, you have a point. I am going to ry that.

I am productive, true. not as much as I'd like or actually as much as I am able to be, but at this point some is better than the none I was doing ;)

just because movies appear linear when you watch them doesn't mean they were created linearly. I just read an article in writer's digest about how you should do exactly what you mention here. There's no right way to do things. Anyway, congratulations on finding yours. :)

I keep remembrering what you said on that last car trip we made -- when it took us pass the camp site ;) -- that you have to know the rules before you can break them.

The right place, the right frame of mind and the right person saying them in the right way continues to fuel me in this exploration.

O, if you get a chance, take Lori Wilde's online course, the desccriptive writer. Awesome, and a great block killer.
