Today's mission is to sneak up on old friends and surprise them :). This is Megan of the fencing origin from back at Tech. How goes the life of Briana?

Megan?!? Wait a minute, I remember you. You were still here when Patty and Jay were teaching, weren't you?

I am currently working on my PhD in Materials Science and Engineering at VT. I am having a blast! Alot of hard work, but it is worth it.

How are you doing? Where are you living?

Yes I was even present for 'baby as an offensive second'!lol. (btw if you see them or have their info I would love to get in touch with them as well.)

So as for the rest of my life I finished architecture at Tech in '01. Moved to FL, moved to NoVA, followed Steve to CA and got married. That is the REALLY condensed version. So now I live in San Diego with Steve. (Steve Jackson of the long haired 'goat' persuasion.)And I am working as an architect and quite enjoying myself. I will hopefully have a new gorget this week so I can get serious about the fencing again.

The PhD deal is awesome. What is your thesis? How much longer do you have, roughly?

On a random not I got a forward earlier this year from the Society Rapier Marshall and was shocked to see Aedan's name at the bottom. Do you two still keep in touch?

Well back to work.

Megan

Sounds like you are doing well. Glad to hear it. You actually have a job in the same field as your degree?!? Very cool!

I haven't been in touch with Patty and Jay in many years, don't have any clue what their contact info might be.

My dissertation is Comparison of Ceramic Armor Properties of Al2O3-TiB2 composites and TiB2 (or something like that). I just started in January, so if everything goes according to plan, I will graduate by Spring of 2009, for my 35th birthday.

Aedan and I have fun harassing each other any time we see each other, like this past weekend, so I guess the answer would be yes.
