I am in an unusual cercumstance. I have done enough work on my dissertation, that instead of going out of town, I actually *want* to stay home and continue working on it. I got to class this morning to find out that we have guest teachers from China. They will be here for 4 months. But the *really* cool part is that they are teaching us the Chen form. Apparently, even in China, only 1 in 100 learn the Chen style. Our normal teacher is learning this with us. Since we only have 4 months to learn, he has arranged ( Read more... )

Kingdom Crusades was great fun, despite being very wet. I did well in the Populace Tourney, but didn't have my mind in the game for the Champion's Tourney. Still need to find that tourney switch. Partying with Tadcaster (and friends) was *alot* of fun. I still have a beautiful bruise on my arm from Jungle Speed. I need to find a copy of that ( Read more... )

Last week Rowan came to visit. It was wonderful getting to spend some time with her. We went out to eat with friends, SCA A&S meeting (sewing), and then watched some of the Firefly DVDs. I am so glad to see that she is doing well (not just hear about it ( Read more... )
