tl;dr: Stephen Moffat is awesome and I am more than excited for Doctor Who, series 5.
Why does the Doctor have a gun?
That's my last thought of the evening, actually.
I just saw the Easter special of Doctor Who, which means Eleven!
So I don't really even know what to think of him yet. I think I like him, but he isn't Ten and I loved Ten as the doctor. Yet, Eleven is properly quirky (maybe even a little bit too much like Ten?) and he's got his own sort of... appeal to him. Plus, the more I look at him, the more he reminds me of this guy I know. :|
Well, physically at least. That guy is nowhere near as cool as the Doctor.
He's younger, he's got a funny lookin' face, his companion is hot in a short little police outfit, she was totally staring at his naked butt while he was changing clothes (no, we don't get to see it!) and she runs off with him wearing a nightgown. I'm hoping he fleshes out Eleven in a totally unique sort of way that doesn't remind me of Ten quite as much as it does right now, but I figure it'll take a few episodes for that to happen, right? He did have some awesome quotes already.
He has definitely, definitely surpassed my expectations~
Plus, his TARDIS is sexy.
The previews at the end of the episode are what really got me this time. Daleks. Creepy blonde women. Cybermen. Weeping angels. Chicks with vampire teeth. Eleven holding a gun at the screen. I want more, more, more now please.
The monster for this episode looked totally ridiculous and CGI'd and so did the aliens coming to get it, but I am still kind of freaked out by it. The snake-thing itself was kind of cute in a creepy way, it was the lady with the two kids and the guy with the dog that were particularly creep-tastic. Certain ways to scare the bejeezus out of Ari right there.
Still so excited for series five!
I am also a bad, bad egg. The whole thing in the beginning with little Amy and the Doctor running around made me think "I ship!" harder than anything else. She is like. Eight. Maybe. If that. Oh god I'm a terrible, terrible person and that would be so out of character, but damn it, I kind of want fic now.
Thank god she grew up. I'm going to go die of shame somewhere now.
