Make sure you vote today!

The odd thing is that there is a letter that has been passed around by our local bishop following some comments by cardinal Sean. Now, one would think that the pressure would be to vote for McCain because of his right to life stance but the letter pressed the point that each voter must keep in mind the good of the country as superseding all other considerations except for personal conscience when in the voting booth. Which in the parlance of the church is tacit permission to vote for Obama. My mom did and I suspect a lot of other Catholics around here went ahead and did so too. Here's hoping anyway.

I did, even checked out Anna to go along. But I didn't get to show her how the nifty voting machines worked because Of Course, there was a problem because I'd moved. I called voter reg over a month ago to make certain I didn't need to do anything and they assured me it was fine. Not. Well, at least I got to do the affidavit vote thing.

BTW, Anna voted for McCain in her Kindergarten class election and was rather upset at the idea that I might not be voting the same.

Ha! Was she picking up the republican vibe from hubby or just the general environment? When I was a kid i got to use a sample voting booth and i voted for Goldwater because I was thirsty:)

Glad you got some kind of vote in. What a pain!

She initially wanted to vote McCain because Palin was female, but I found out later that someone had told her that Obama would destroy all of our houses or something weird like that (have to remember we live in Miss). Probably the oft-annoying neighbor kid. I tried to tell her that wasn't true and that both McCain and Obama were both good leaders and either would be a good president, but I don't know if that helped.

Well, she was just as vulnerable to that silly message as a whole lot of adults. I don't know if that's a good thing, but at least hopefully she can grow out of it!
