Except for something like this, I don't see the point of twitter. I'm not that interested in the day-to-day minutia of my life; why would anyone else be?

pretty much all my "friends" there are work related contacts (the vast majority of which I've never met - just like here). so the news that gets passed around is often - links to articles and stuff. but there are little bits like this that get noted too. it's a very interesting combination of messages.
