BIKE PEOPLE!I'm looking for a bike. Yes, finally! Due to some issues and shit, I'm thinking it's time to get my ass a bike. Check Craig's List for used bikes.

Bicycle Whorehouse is a good place for bikes. http://bicyclewarehouse.com/

Ask Stephen, he's hooked people up with used bikes before.

Plus, if you have a bike, you'll have one for BM if you cum ;)

ack! no! never. ever. ever. buy a bike from a big box store.

(a) they only sell not good bikes
(b) they give their assemblers (at best) a few hours training
(c) you'll never find a hardtail at target, and trust me soft-tails suck unless (i) they're fancy and (ii) you're doing *serious* off-road shiz.

i'd say you want to
(1) go to a *real* bike shop, make like you're buying something, get them to help you size something out, test ride the ones they think fit well, ask lots of questions about *why* things fit well, then thank them and go away.
(2) do the craigslist and ebay thing. know what your sizing requirements are and run potential candidates by someone who knows how to read the fine print. (i'm looking at me and acetylcholine here ( ... )

I got some suggestions from people on the SD LJ group on shops. I'll probably head down over the next couple of weeks. I'm willing to spend a couple hundred bucks, but I don't wanna pay much over $300. I can't afford much more honestly.

In-seam? About 35-36"
