but still....you're never really prepared.

I just got back from West Palm Beach. Jonathan's on a plane to West Virginia to say goodbye to his Dad.

The hope is that he'll still be alive when he gets there.

I never thought about you...I'm so sorry.

It's easier for him..his dad left when he was four and he's seen him only 2 times since then and each of those times his dad was very good to him. The worst his dad ever did to him was ignore him all those years, so he still has some good memories.

the thorough searches happen when you buy a one way ticket, among other things. it's not any one thing. his boarding pass most likely had "SSSS" on it. it happens all the time when i wind up on a one way ticket.

What a nice surprise to find in my in box this morning It made me smile and say "AWWWWWWWWW" and then tear up a little.

It's just been the 2 of us for 16 years. We're best friends. I've always tried to treat him the way I wanted to be treated when I was his age. That makes me a little unconventional, and I catch some flack from time to time, but oce in a while, my approach gets validated with comments like yours.
