Day 2: Useless Freedom

Time: Early afternoon (Day 2)

This whole situation was off-putting, to say the least. First he was picking up selenia flowers for a Luke that didn't even remember those orders. Then he was talking to people who thought he were a completely different person... and in the end, he was escorted to Grand Chokmah with guards. As if he were some criminal! It made last night... seem like another dream altogether. Tear being the Fon Master? Luke being.. well, not creepy and not a God-General?
How could it be anything other than a scary dream? (Though he did like seeing a happy Luke, Asch had to admit.) The guards walking behind him pretty much confirmed that he hadn't been dreaming. Ginji wasn't waiting for him outside the valley - the people in Chesedonia refused to admit that he was the heir to the throne. In a way, this was slightly frustrating. People didn't think he was royalty; some of them even thought he was dead.
... Just as Luke had. How could he have died so early in life without accomplishing anything? He wanted to do so much with Natalia. They were going to help build bridges across their kingdom; they were going to establish better relations with Daath and Malkuth. All of it now was pretty much out the window. In the end, Asch knew there was really nothing he could do if he was just going to mope around his bedroom all day.
In the end, he had opted to head out into the city. Even if it meant being accompanied by guards, he was getting fresh air. And hey, they hadn't said anything about spending some money at the stores, hadn't they? It.. seemed to fit. Besides, there wasn't anything else he could do.
Walking into the store, he nodded at the guards who remained outside. Finally! Some freedom... even if it were being used on buying something that he would probably never use again in his lifetime.
