Day 3: Making Royal Adjustments

Location: Grand Chokmah, near the dock
Time: Day 3, early morning

She had such a headache. Although she had tried all of her healing artes (because admittedly, she wasn't quite as practiced with them as Luke or Van) and even taken two apple gels, it wasn't going away. Perhaps it was one of those... other headaches. Dehydration, for example.
Or stress.
It might possibly... possibly have been stress.
She held herself tightly and left the manor, quiet but not without the accompaniment of two soldiers. So many of them here were -- male. It was ridiculously unsafe of the Empress. Natalia believed in the advancement of men as much as or more than the next woman, but it wasn't hard to figure out that you needed a cool head when it came to drawing swords in real battle!
Well, when the entire city was overrun by a small battalion of well-armed females, they'd see their mistake. The men guarding her were so easily distracted, pointing out the sights to her cheerfully -- if she hadn't been determined to cooperate, disarming them both would have been child's play.
