It's not as though Guy wasn't used to people. Even as a kid, there were always maids around - not as much as Luke's manor housed them, perhaps, but there was a smile greeting him in every room. Guy hadn't had the time to entertain guests even before now, so the number of servants he had was respectively less than the amount at the previous houses he'd lived in. The Emperor told him that he should splurge a little, get some more help, and sit back for a change, but Guy was positive that that easy of a life didn't suit him. He'd rather work a little, keep himself occupied.
So while Guy was perfectly capable of being surrounded by people, this situation was different than anything he'd been in before. Faces of the people he knew, similar personalities, but still just so different. Some of them were possibly even dangerous. He was grateful Jade had the mind to station guards in the Count's home, as bad as he felt being so untrustworthy. He couldn't help it.
They sure had kept him busy though. The stress of the prior few days saw him already a little tired as he returned from his daily walk of the emperor's rappigs. His first instinct was to go straight to the kitchen, and after a brief exchange with a guard or two, that's exactly what he did.
