He'd finally found time to pore over the fon disc that Jade had passed on to him, and pored over the known details of each newcomer's world. Some were more interesting than others; he rather thought he could wrap his head around the concept of a female version of Asch, and a world where Luke had grown up wild and Asch had been the Fabre son.
But one of the more interesting situations was the question of what would have become of the world if Van had never been -- or rather, had died much younger, before he'd had a chance to stir unrest? What kind of Fon Master was Mystearica, in place of Ion?
Peony had gone to every effort to secure an invitation for the young Fon Master to dine with him, down to the polite written request and the imperial seal. He was quite curious to learn about the state of the world, and his mind was teeming with questions that honestly he had very little intention of asking.
He had not implied to her that they would be dining in his chambers, with candles and music playing from one of those clever little fonic discs they'd recreated from Sheridan. That part was less about politics and more about watching young women turn funny colors, which was one of his hobbies (right up there with watching Saphir turn funny colors).
