baby Hat - hodology

I can't tell if I like this more for the name or the cables. Or the colour, silly me.

I'm discovering that I like knitting things for babies. I'm really discovering the fun of top-town all-one-piece jackets, that pull together from a flat piece of knitting like magic. Pictures soon!

The name of the hat is exceedingly cool. I am not a huge fan of cables, so I may not love it as much as I should.

We do want pictures!

The shawl is very geometric. Neat.

I utterly adore the stegosaurus hat and scarf. That is possibly the coolest thing ever. Can also be used to turn a child into a dragon (in the right colors, and with the adition to some flames on the scarf).

The baby kimono is nice- it looks sturdy. I like the ties - no falling off.

The kimono calls for like twice as much yarn as the mason-dixon kimono, but I think that's at least in part because it starts at a 6-month size, not a newborn size. Easy enough to scale down.... or just make those modifications to the mason-Dixon pattern (I'm getting adventurous!)

The stegosaurus set is.. wondrous. I love it. now, I just need a kidling to knit it for.

The shawl will be knit, at least as a kerchief. i become more & more sure about that.

Why don't you like cables?

And the camera arrived yesterday, but I'm still figuring out all the settings, and I need a good sunny place in which to photograph all my in-progress knits... the hill at work would work...

I love cables, but not like cabled sweaters or such. And I haven't yet figured out reversible cables.
