DAY ONE - July 26th, 2009 (?!?!)

Arrived in "City"
Found "network device" and requested assistance
Wandered around, figured out how to reply to the entry it made on my behalf
Got frustrated by idiot Gryffindors, started walking aimlessly
Realized on the second go around the square, the buildings are numbered clockwise in a circle around the carousel
Plants stopped moving and talking eventually - early morning hours before dawn
Picked building 5, seemed not to have anyone unsavoury go in or out while I was watching
Something about the buildings that makes it hard to judge their size - bigger on the inside than the outside - or just changing shape and size? - one guide implies they change to suit their owners, infinitely large ??
Picked one door at the furthest end of the hall from the elevators, but close to a set of stairs and with a not ugly view - mostly facing the gardens but some buildings in between - at least facing away from that horrendous flashing carousel.
#614 - two bedrooms one bath barely furnished but liveable
Deadbolted the door and charmed it with as many wards as could think of - also the windows. Closed the blinds.
Ran a bath, get undressed. Had a lapse.
Washed, nearly fall asleep in the water - apparently dead men walk after twenty-four hours might give it a try some time - collapsed in bed, passed out
First good sleep in - months maybe - should have known all it would take is a bloody alternate dimension!

DAY TWO - 27th

Woke up around noon & felt good about myself until remembered where I am & what happened - almost threw up
Washed again with what's at hand - need soap, shampoo, more towels, brush - at the very least
Did a poor job of charming the clothes clean, put on pants, trousers and shirt of yesterday - need laundry service
Remembered the network thing on the way out and brought it along
Found a café for breakfast - croissant and chocolat chaud - not amazing but decent
Found out underage kids don't have to pay for food - insert requisite evil laughter here - C&G would still be eating
Figured out what the polychromatic money is supposed to look like and did a little transfiguration to make some of the coins I had on me to match - for reference:
10 Red = Orange = one cup of coffee/tea
50 Red = 5 Orange = Yellow
100 Red = 10 Orange = 2 Yellow = Green
500 Red = 50 Orange = 10 Yellow = 5 Green = Blue
1000 Red = 100 Orange = 20 Yellow = 10 Green = 2 Blue = Violet
5000 Red = 500 Orange = 100 Yellow = 50 Green = 10 Blue = 5 Violet = Indigo

Couldn't find robe shop, bought week's worth of muggle clothes and a sandwich & some pastries for lunch - then other necessary supplies - should have enough gold on me if I'm careful to do for a bit
Went back to the flat, took a shower & changed into clean clothing
Realized the bedroom I didn't sleep in disappeared while I was out and now there's a small terrace instead - not bad
So sat outside in the sun & fiddled with the magical muggle networking box for a while
Reread the guides Granger & the other woman sent again more closely - note:
no known way out - city itself shows consciousness?
how long has this place been here - with no stable popl'n no way of saying - two years or more at least
even these gods come and go?
death is transient - but revived is more mummy/inferi/undead-like - & dead can't leave the city - so not trying that one out after all
elections ??
no way to tell what is going on at home - how long have I been gone? - time flow works how? - esp. with having been here before?? - how many people know who I am from before? - how much do the Gs know?
curses - not everyone is affected at once? - but everyone can be - must take precautions
vampires - tame vampires - no reliable way to take one down?
arrancar - never heard of before - sounds spanish "pull out" "tear off" something like that - demon?
werewolves - typical
homunculi - interesting - demi-god-like - relation to alchemy at all?
death gods - gods within gods - how do they exist w/o their function?
angels - muggle religious tradition cannot be true but etc

Went out in search of dinner again - found a passable restaurant not too far away.
Ticking started to wear on last nerve, impossible to enjoy piece and quiet
Ticking + insomnia + nightmares = long night of pacing and browsing the lives of the citizens

DAY THREE - 28th

Bathed & breakfasted again (~3 hrs total)
Went out to find a pet shop, found one with many creatures, some I hadn't seen before, have to visit again
Wavered between a raven, owl, and a snake (cats are too noisy & fur no matter how "cute" & the owner wouldn't believe me, definitely no dogs)
Settled on owl - ravens are clever but too noisy & snake too much reminder
Went "home", transfigured a chair into a perch, feed her some treats & got her adapted - not quite tame, but very beautiful - white & black eagle-owl
Went out for lunch, walked by a place with a cloak in the window so bought one & a silver clasp fashioned in the shape of a snake - noticed a mix of fashion on people in the streets but still mostly muggle & don't want to stand out too much
Settled on Themis for a name - Greek old god of convention, custom, tradition - sister of Nemesis
Dinner, managed to somehow insult a talking dog and almost got bit
Retired early, but the usual, even without the ticking

DAY FOUR - 29th

Didn't wake in a panic - good or bad sign? (5 hrs!)
Can't find proper rolls of parchment - bought a small book of bound blank pages instead for carrying notes - and a "portable quill" (nib w/ ink in the staff, not the same but works until I can charm a proper one)
Shall be stopping this soon enough - though good for sanity can't risk someone else picking up after all - must remember to burn previous pages
Network shows use by Lupin - to comment or not to comment? - could ignore them all of course - disappear - be someone else - but its a small city and Potter is from the future hence he must know how it all turns out & the way he was acting !!
Might be easier to corner Lovegood or Granger if they're from the same time - & find out when the next full moon is

Themis, Siberian Eagle Owl

[ooc: as said, this is off-network and so not hackable (or replyable to) unless you are physically spying on him and broke the wards around his house without him noticing. just for reference. ooc comments are okay.]
