Steampunk

These are(most of) the shots from the steampunk shoot with Marissa and Betty on the 7th, I believe. There are a couple that I'm still working on, that will make an appearance at a later date.

+15...I think )

You're so nice, you comment on my photos. If you have constructive criticism please let me know. I'm just starting out again and I'll take all the help I can get. Plus, your art is amazing!

You have no idea how much that irritates me too. I HATE that I cut off Marissa's elbow in that one over head shot. I was lifting my tripod way up and couldn't actually see the shot, I was guessing, so I cut off her elbow.

I strained a lot to make sure I didn't cut off a toe or leg or anything in a lot of those shots. When I do(case and point in my previous set, the one of Marissa infront of the green wall, I cut off her hands), unless I really like the shot I'll scrap it.

I'm worried about locations where there isn't a lot of natural light. My friend wants to do a shoot in a library...it'll be hard to find natural light there. Any suggestions?

I dunno how often you gte people wandering into you journal, but here I am!

I like this.
I agree with Dreamerleo, you make good use of prexisting light.

My only real critique would be that the models aren't really Steampunk. They are mighty adorable, though. What camera did you use for these?

Honestly, I don't think its my models that weren't steampunk it was what they wore. I was a little disappointed when I saw what they were wearing...I thought it'd be more steampunky. But again, it was my first attempt at a steampunk look and they're amature models so...overall, I'm pleased with the results.

I'm using a Canon Powershot S5IS. I lust after an slr but alas, I can't afford it yet.

And I like people wandering into my journal! In fact, I enjoy new friends as well.
