After an interesting conversation with Patrick last night, we both came to the conclusion that being unique is pretty darn cool. We put Dan in this category as well, perhaps yes: it is the straight, old fashioned side coming out in us?

And yet number wise, we are low on the totem pole.

I agree: unique is good.

Personally speaking, "monogamy" and "fidelity" are unrelated. The straight world has smashed the two together - for religious reasons - but I'm not going to argue whether physical monogamy is a virtue, or a habit.

I'm single. I'm not the right person to have THAT discussion/argument/screaming match with. :)

(I also know that I can't answer the question "how would you feel if your partner slept with other guys?" really well; theoretically, I'm fine - as long as I'm confident that he comes back to me because he wants to...but honestly, I'd probably be jealous as hell. I don't like that about myself, though.)

That is very good feedback! These last few weeks has actually made me a little curious and sparked a strange interest in taking a few classes on the subject.

It's a very thorny subject. It's my OPINION (I say that in all-caps because I have nothing but gut-instinct to go by here) that the recent gay-marriage-debate as made gay men a lot more...sensitive...to the DISCUSSION of monogamy ( ... )

This is very good. Would you mind if I let Dan and Pat read this?
