One of my favourite scenes in the show is the one when the Professor explains his motivation to Raquel in season 2 and tears the notes - It's just paper. Money is an illusion. The Mint is a house of paper because the paper notes are printed there, but also the world is a house of paper because it depends on paper notes. Ah, good piece. And that it's followed by including the gold as idea, too. Most often the reasoning goes rather the "gold was better because it's solid, real and actually there, and couldn't be just printed" way, while failing to notice that it still relies on the commonly agreed idea of value instead of some actual value, like water or air (which are considered cheap or free, how ironic. :P)
I think I like Tamayo, out of your summary anyway.

It works not before we want it to work. Well put. Looks like the process is going faster than before (is it another sign of getting old?). I had a good time rewatching "A Series of Unfortunate Events" recently and I have some hopes concerning "The Witcher" 2. I just need to find a place where I can enjoy the discussion. Perhaps Reddit, I've been spending some time there in various fandom groups and I'm very happy about the content. Much, much better than Facebook groups.
Yeah, the closest to the forum experience there exists these days. TBH, I sometimes regret an unspecified amount of the fandom thing missed me just beacause FB puts me off so much. Reddit reads magnitudes better, though it still doesn't feel to me like a place for making friends - too casual and crowded at once. Maybe on smaller subs, I don't know, I never really invested myself there this way. How does it feel to you, is it "friendable"? Was FB, comparably to forums?
To be honest, I rarely look at nicknames on Reddit, but I'm still new in my communities and want to read fan theories and analyses, not make friends. Right now posts and comments feel pretty anonymous to me. Facebook groups can be very friendable, but it depends on the group. There are few that are important to me and many I left after a week. I think on FB someone has to actually lead the group, actively form a community, not just watch over the rules. I don't know how often it happens on Reddit groups.
