I really thought Vesemir would give Ciri the blood and start the mutation. I thought perhaps it happens in later books.
Nope. As far as I recall, in the original lore Kaer Morhen gave up on schooling girls because of too bad of fail to success ratio. As in: the mutations process was kind of a lottery anyway, and female children almost never survived (they either didn't know why or this knowledge was lost already at Vesemir's time). That's why they decided to not mess with Ciri's physiology and whatnot (and the knowledge is gone together with their old experts anyway), and just school her like a normal human, which has still put her above most human fighters, because Kaer Morhen.
(Blood? I think originally it was just some nasty herbs and such; witchers aren't vampires...)

The only thing that surpsised me was the final reveal. I noticed that Ciri's father didn't turn to dust like her mother in Ciri's visionWait, they checked that off already, this early? Unless they did they own thing again in the show and I don't even know how we ( ... )

Yeah, I know in the books the problem was lost knowledge. In the show, the problem was blood - they needed old elven blood that Ciri provided so technically, they had everything to start the process. It allowed both Ciri and Geralt to consider the "Ciri becomes a witcher" idea for real, Ciri to want it and Geralt to decline it because he didn't want her to have a life like his (and, of course, the risk).

Unless they did they own thing again in the show and I don't even know how we can find it out without spoiling the books in case of the difference, eek! :')It's the same thing, I've read somewhere it is revealed near the end of the last book. I suppose in the show it was a good moment to surprise the audience that didn't read the books - I don't know if they could not show him for ( ... )
