Family Grows Again!
On Friday, November 2, we had two new members of the extended family arrive. Valerie and Ron Amend became the proud parents of Savannah (4 lbs.) and Madison (3 lbs.). Mother and daughters are doing well at Johns Hopkins. I understand Valerie will be able to come home Monday but the girls will be kept at John Hopkins until they gain weight and ( Read more... ) -
Yep--Spring is Here!
The weather is getting warmer (almost 70 today!). I have weeds coming up along with some type of plants (yet to be identified, but probably dafodils). Yesterday we had a BIG black and yellow bumble bee flying outside the front door! Yep it is spring ( Read more... ) -
Doctor's Report
We went to see Dr. Green today. He is the cardiologist that started Peninsula Cardiology with Dr. Wood (Dad's doctor) and we were very pleased with him. He actually took time to read the file and talk to Ralph about everything while making us feel comfortable. He was very pleased with Ralph's blook pressure (122/80) but was a little concerned ( Read more... ) -
Good News!
Ralph had his follow up appointment with the Plastic Surgeon today. We had been worried because the site of the surgery had bled quite a bit over the past couple of days (he kept banging it against doorframes!) and it looked nasty. However, the doctor told him to expect it to look nasty but in about 3 months time he won't even be able to tell it ( Read more... ) -
Update on Surgery
Ralph's surgery went well yesterday according to Dr. Vela. The portion that had to be removed was about the size of a quarter but they planned to take some of the surrounding area as well. This would make the surgical site about the size of a half dollar and they would probably go down almost, but not to, the muscle. They took some sking from ( Read more... ) -
Tra la la la la
The tree is up in the family room and the lights are on it. We are gradually adding the ornaments and will continue to do so, I am sure, until Christmas Day! We decided to put it in the corner of the family room and it really looks nice there. It seems much larger than I remember ( Read more... ) -
Memories
We have been busy moving boxes and things from one storage area to the new garage. Yesterday, "Dad" found my high school yearbook from my senior year. Since I graduated in 1962 I naturally had to look to see what was written in it. There are so many entries that brought back good and fun memories and many names I have wondered about ( Read more... ) -

Thanksgiving
We had a very nice Thanksgiving this year. Beth invited us to her home and we spent the day with her, Tierza, and Neil. It was nice because we were able to meet Neil's parents. Beth had told us so many nice things about them it nice to now be able to put faces to names. Needless to say, we ate well and too much! We got back to our hotel in ( Read more... )
