Well, I suppose it could be both. Actually, there is another ring exactly like it (aside from having the little skeleton inside) which is definitely a poison ring. However, the one that I got still has a bit of room in it since the skelly lies flat, so it could hold a tiny bit o' something. I already have a lovely poison ring that I got quite some time ago, and so I chose the cute skelly ring to its empty twin. :)
