During all the upheavel and change of lifestyle I have noticed that I have been not only ignoring certain things but I have not been pushing myself to learn new skills.

I will be without e-communications for a little while so this will be an excellent time to look into learning something new.

I had always heard that (and my first deck was a gift), but it seems like the consensus now based on the major tarot websites at least is that it's a myth left over from when tarot was passed down through the family rather than something people actually need to be concerned about now. I think it's one of those things where if you believe it's bad luck, ask someone for one, and if not just go for it (and this way you'll also be able to pick the deck that suits you best).

Thanks, I am too superstitious I think. I may look into getting my own then. Do you read the cards?

I do. I'm not to the point where I've memorized all the cards, but with a few good references I usually find that my readings are really helpful.

I think you and I are experiencing a parallel journey in that we are trying to pull the reins of our life and experience new wonderful interests. I have been on LJ for years but fell off the face of the earth a little while ago.
