I think you need to let people know when you just plain don't like them. Or if it's not that, if you just don't trust them to do a good job at something, tell them that instead of saying you're not looking for help in that aspect, only for them to overhear you offering that position to one of their friends months later.

If I could choose for one thing to be different between us it would be that you talked about yourself more. There are times when I can feel that you are hurting and I wish you would talk it out. But alas, that is not who you are.

Don't put so much pressure on yourself. Also, you should know you are the one person who has never failed me. Thanks.

I am one thing at some times, and then a different me is a completely different thing at other times. I do not have a coherent person. I am not a connected set, topologically. I must be some pathological thing that you have to use the axiom of choice to construct, or something. I do not want anything and I usually do not feel anything, and it is debatable whether I have any meaningful relationships with other people. When I sit back and really think about this I go insane and am horribly frightened, and end up pacing around in circles for a while. As happened a few hours ago. The two things that I almost always have in common, though, are a bond with music and a love of land, roads, trees, sky, and so on. Past that, I'm terribly nonsensical and tangled. I think that if I didn't have the above consistent things, I'd have stopped being human a long time ago
