For the next couple of weeks, seeing Hank in videos will be very weird because I've now seen him outside the screen. He, like... lives. And moves. In the real world. On his own. He isn't controlled by the play/pause button ( Read more... )

So you got to go? Cool, can't wait to see the pictures!

It's funny that you mention how surreal it is to see someone "outside the screen," because I was just thinking of that recently. I was watching Wheel of Fortune the other night, and remembered how I saw Pat Sajack out and about in Anaheim a few years ago, and how much older (and taller - a lot taller than the two inches on the screen!) he looked in person. Same with when I saw Devendra Banhart and Andrew Bird in concert - it's strange to think they were in the same room with me, let alone breathing the same air.

That is exactly how I feel when I meet someone famous. Not that I've met a lot. But I did see James McAvoy onstage in London last March and I had to keep reminding myself that it was really him because he DOES walk around and eat and breathe air. Same with Libba- though she took a picture with me looking like she was eating my head, I still can't believe that there's such an amazing person walking on the same earth I am.
