My apologies for my unexpected absence on Thursday. The free periods surely gave you the extra time needed to complete the assignments which were already due today. [ And here comes the substitute who was called in for a lesson on short notice. The circumstances surrounding that particular absence seemed strange and Philip didn't quite gather whether subbing was supposed to continue next week. Either way, it couldn't hurt to speak to the teacher in question.

...Although if he'd known about her ability he probably wouldn't have chosen to do so in person. But obviously he didn't, so he is now waiting for her in the corridor after class. ]
