Leonard was having a problem sleeping on this particular night, not because of a coming exam or because of a teacher being an idiot, but because of everything that had happened lately. Gabriella was pregnant. That in and of itself was shocking, but what was even more shocking and made Leonard the happiest was that she had decided to keep the baby

Gabriella on the other hand was sound asleep, sprawled out on their bed and breathing through her mouth, which made it all a bit heavier than normal. She was exhausted though, from trying to take on as many extra classes as she could, because she wanted to at least graduate before the baby came. That, and worrying about it all, what would happen to them, how they were going to get money, where they'd live, what they'd do...everything got to her, and lead to her passing out at night to dreamless sleep, something she was thankful for. She was glad that they seemed to at least have Leonard's parents support, because she knew that her father would more than likely stop talking to her once he found out. Of course she hoped it would be different, but knew that chances of them being different were slim to none.

She shifted, her night slip (wanting to wear them while she still could) slipping up to reveal her stomach, and she let out a soft, content sigh, oblivious to the fact that her boyfriend was currently talking to her stomach.

Her workload had been worrying him, since even before, it had been kind of insane and he knew what stress could do to her, but he wasn't about to stop her, since she seemed bound and determined to do it no matter what. He had been worrying about the same things she had, but instead of exhausting him they had this effect, usually. His parents were godsends, in his opinion, supporting the two of them (after lecturing him first) with the baby, his mother going so far as to make plans for a baby shower, and he hoped that maybe her father would be the same, but that was probably not going to happen, much to his displeasure

Of course she wasn't going to let him take off of his work, though. He was going to be a doctor, and she'd cornered him the day after she'd decided to keep it that if he tried to drop out of med school she was going to leave him. Of course that was a big fat lie, but she didn't want him losing her dream like she was (at least for the time being), nor did she want a boyfriend who worked at a grocery store. No, her boyfriend was going to be a doctor, dammit, whether he liked it or not. And his parents seemed to think along the lines of her when it came to that, promising that they'd help out too. She'd near dissolved into tears when his mother started making plans for a baby shower, her all to quickly trying to shake it off - saying that it wasn't going to be necessary (even though it would be appreciated), and she was thankful she seemed so determined on the matter

He wasn't really even asking her to, he was just asking to help out a little more. He had thought of maybe putting his studies on hold, but after being cornered like that and having her threatening to leave him (a thought that made him cringe just thinking about it), the idea had been burned in his head. And after his parents got involved, well, there was no question that he'd get to say "Dammit man, I'm a doctor" at some point in his life. The baby shower was so sweet and secretly, Leonard may still be helping his mother plan one, just to surprise Gabriella
