Name: Saica
Journal: regalblaze
Contact: You've got them. ♥

Character Name: Cissie King-Jones
Series: DC Comics
Gender: Female
Age & Canon Point: 15; after YJ #55 but before Graduation Day
Requested Sponsor: Topaz or Diamond
Entry position (Cadet, SeeD, Instructor, other): Cadet
History: Her brief (but informative) biography
Abilities & Physical Abnormalities:
  • She's an Olympic-level archer who won a gold medal at the 2000 games. Although she's a retired hero, she still has great skill with a bow and arrow--and is generally agreed to be almost-equals with Green Arrow and Speedy.
  • A knack for medicine and healing; she's studied medicine and knows battlefield medicine thanks to her working as a field medic on Apokolips during crises and the like.
  • Some acting skill - but nothing superhuman - since she appeared on Wendy for about two seasons as a recurring character.
  • She's one of the few people in canon who can keep Bart in line. (Yes, this is a super power in itself.)
Personality: Cissie generally acts like your average American teenager. She's a huge fan of Wendy the Werewolf Stalker (her world's version of Buffy); she hangs out at the mall with her friends; and she struggles with schoolwork--especially Algebra II. What most people don't realize, however, is that Cissie's an ordinary girl who's lived through extraordinary situations from day one.

Raised by a confident (and quite frankly, insane) stage mother, Cissie has grown up in the world of superheroes. Superspeed, super strength, and even flight don't seem unusual or even extraordinary to her. If she meets someone who brags about their abilities, she'll shrug and comment, "Is that supposed to impress me?" (Not that it doesn't! She's seen almost everything in her years as a superhero-in-training.)

However, growing up in an unusual world has made Cissie crave normalcy. She wants to worry about boys; she wants to think about college; and she dreams of a white-picket fence and 2.7 children with her husband. She used to resent her mother for chasing fame through Cissie. The two have since made up, and Bonnie has eagerly thrust herself behind Cissie's Olympic fame and normal life instead. Cissie has long acknowledged that she's never going to get rid of her helicopter mother... but her mother is also all she has.

Family and friends, in this same vein, are incredibly important to Cissie. Even if she isn't a superhero anymore, she still wants to support her best friend Cassie and all of her other superhero friends in other ways. For instance, she once used her Olympic fame to help save the wounded during a superhero war. Ever since, Cissie's expressed a huge interest in medicine and helping the unfortunate through healing. Although she's not much of a fighter - at least, she won't seek out fights - she still wants to help in any way she can.

She's thus loyal to everything she believes in. Once you have Cissie as a friend, she'll latch onto you and won't let go... even if she thinks you're weird sometimes and could afford to take a shower more often.

Cissie tends to speak before she thinks, so she sometimes says things she'll later regret. Her tendency to lampshade certain cliches about her world, however, have earned her many laughs from her friends and family. It's not her fault that she can see the cliches more often than her former teammates!

When it all comes down to it, however, she is an honest (if not blunt), kind-hearted teenager who honestly just wants the best for her friends and family. Even if she's currently taking a "I am so not helping" stance, it's just because Cissie knows she's better off as a normal girl. It's just hard to be one in a universe where nearly everyone else stands out for being completely and utterly unusual.

What are your plans for the character in-game? Besides keeping Bart in line? Cissie's probably going to be a Battlefield Medicine major - in addition to keeping up with her archery classes - and try her best to get the heck outta Dodge this new world. Barring that, she'll snark. A lot.

Anything else? I wasn't sure about Cissie's sponsor, so feel free to give her whoever you think suits her best. (Even if it's a choice I really didn't think about.)

Complete TWO out of the FOUR options.

i) IC Questionnaire
What do you prefer to be known as?
Cissie King-Jones, sir.
How old are you? Fifteen.
Do you have any history in combat?
... Very little, sir. I've only healed the sick after disasters hit Earth and the like.
If so, have you ever killed?
Sir, I... I haven't. Nor will I ever.
i) How do you feel when you get involved in some project that calls for immediate and rapid activity?
Just do it! Figure out a plan, charge in there, and hope it all works for the best.
ii) Do you organize and initiate leisure activities?
Yeah! It's fun to hang out with your friends--and if we don't figure out what we're gonna do, it's going to be hours of us just talking.
iii) What role do you take when working in a group?
Follower, usually. It depends on who's in charge and what we're doing.
iv) How talkative are you around other people?
I'd say pretty talkative.
v) What three things would you want to have with you on a desert island? State your reasoning.
Before I answer that--how am I getting to the island? Because if I'm teleported there, I really don't want to stick around. Regardless of the situation, I'm bringing a time machine so that I leave without playing... say, baseball to get home.
vi) Is it important to be liked by a wide range of people?
Not.... really? Someone's always going to dislike you, no matter what's going to happen, so you might as well be yourself regardless.
vii) When the odds are against you, is it worth taking a chance?
Always. No pain, no gain, right?
viii) Do you consider yourself to be an impulsive person?
I don't think so! I like planning things out most of the time, though my friends? [giggles] Are a totally different story.
ix) Would you agree that planning things ahead takes the fun out of life?
Ehhh... I wouldn't agree, but I wouldn't disagree either. Some people that were on my team back home planned, planned, planned, and it worked out for them; it also works for people who don't plan. So basically... if we just do what works for us, the fun'll naturally come.
x) Do you like surprises?
... That depends on your definition of surprise.
xi) Do you sometimes wonder if there is something wrong with you?
I used to. Right now, I'm pretty happy with who I am and what I'm going to do in the future.
xii) Do you consider yourself to be smarter than your superiors, and disagree with their decisions?
Sometimes, people make stupid decisions. It's not a matter of being smarter than them so much as "people, no matter their IQ, don't know what to do" and if they're being as stubborn as he--heck, you've just gotta set them straight. That's all.
xiii) Lastly, how do you feel about cabbages?
They're good in salad! I don't mind them one way or the other.
