I'd like to run a half marathon sometime in my life. My friend almost talked me into doing the Tinkerbell Half Marathon this year, and now I wish I had because Mickey high-fived everyone at the finish line lol. That's a great thing for your sister though. And don't give up on your goal!
It's an excellent goal! I've always thought about it, even when I just pretended that some day I could run more than a minute. But now it's the most daunting thing ever.
I also thought about doing the Tinkerbell Half Marathon. If I ever did a half, it would definitely be a Disney event.
Holy crap, that is a fantastic time. Tell your sister she ran it faster than my trainer!
Honey, as someone who knows exactly how you feel, do not get down on yourself. I ran a 5k last weekend, and before the race started, a lady who looked every single inch the seasoned, hard-core marathon runner, came up to me and started talking to me about my half marathon (I was wearing my shirt from the race). She ran the same half that I had, and at one point she asked me what my time was. Of course, I was embarrassed to tell her, since I knew it was absolutely nothing compared to what she'd run it in. But she said, "Wow, and this was your first half? That's fantastic, good for you! Congrats!" And that seriously meant a lot to me.
So you see, you CAN do it, and it doesn't matter if you're still struggling to get 42 miles in. You will have plenty of time to train and you will make it, because you're strong, and you never know how strong you can be until you complete that race.

If it helps at all, you've inspired me to start working out again! I am in awe of what you're doing, it's so wonderful.
As an absolute Disney enthusiast, I would LOVE to be a part of a Disney event, hee. \o/ I think you should go for it.
