Get a credit card with a annual fee. I know some ppl w/ bad credit that did that. And they would charge like a pack of gum and pay it off. :) Or..... you can find one that DOES accept you, and it might have outrageous interest rates, but just pay it off on time...and you'll be fine.

Not to mention... applying for tons of CC and getting turned down kills your credit. be careful with that!

I am, like you are, shocked that the companies that are targeting students are turning you down! When I was a freshman at Berry, I applied for one of the cards that Berry stuffed in our bookstore bags and mailboxes. I'd never had a job before, had no income, and had no credit whatsoever -- then again, it was 1996, too, so maybe things have changed. Oh, wow, I feel very old now.

Since you are being denied credit, though, you can get a free copy of your credit reports from the credit agencies. Your probably don't have much on your credit report, but you never know what might be on it. My mother's and sister's reports had info mixed on them and I've known others whose identities were stolen and they didn't know it for a long time. Most likely, though, you just don't earn enough $.

Best of luck with getting a card and building positive credit scores.
