If you're wanting to eat them without drying and sorts, s'best to put the apples some place cold. They're already ripe, but they go bad quicker if you leave them out in the open bit more than half if warm.

If the batter hits the ball, they can run for the bases out in the field. If the batter gets to a base, they're safe. If the team in the field catches the ball and gets it over to the base before the batter that's running gets there, the batter is out.
The batting team scores points by getting around all the bases without being caught by the other team!
[But!]
If more people know football better, though, that's a good choice. It has penalty cards like that, but we wouldn't really have to use those in a pick-up game.
