Second Incantation

The attitudes of most of the student body are ridiculous. People can't expect that England should continue to undergo attack by these Death Eaters without any response, and if an assault on the Ministry isn't a good reason, nothing is ( Read more... )

...Well, as much as I don' know if we should approach it like a war when we're fightin' people that should only be seen as a group of violent bigots who want t' scare everyone into goin' with their twisted set o' beliefs...I do agree with you that people shouldn' think that doin' nothin' is gonna help. It cert'nly never helped with groups like them in th' past.

((Whut you say about Hufflepuffs? >: XDD Lawl, kidding...but Tia's not against the fighting back, really, so I guess she's different than most of the others, hee. ♥ Oh, and that strike is hackable.))

It is a war. Not a muggle war with guns, but an offensive all the same. And it's about time they take action rather than sitting idly by while the Death Eaters kill wizard and muggle alike.

An offensive doesn't hafta be called a war. There was a crackdown on this sorta stuff after Grindelwald fell and there were people like this causin' trouble. Seems t' me like th' Death Eaters would love t' call this thin' a "war" if it means they can claim they're wagin' a war on Muggles and Muggle-borns. They'd prob'ly treat it like some "holy war" or somethin', most likely.

But it is about time. As much as it is a shame 'bout what happened t' Minist'r Dent and at th' Ministry, I'm glad that th' Ministry's gettin' a backbone in regards t' these folks.

Candy coating it with names that are anything less than what it really is is pointless. If this is what it takes to get the British ministry to be on their guard, then they should call it whatever is necessary.

Hopefully West will be a more vigilant Minister for Magic than Dent was.

I agree, I doubt the Death Eaters are very interested in diplomacy and won't just go away if we ignore them. That's not how it's gone in the past. And the apparent belief that Minister Dent made the decision by himself to declare war is just as ridiculous.

They're fools. These problems with blood have always been an issue. They aren't going away, and anything other than taking action is the same as tolerating it.

Dent isn't the only one who is injured. The entire ministry is wounded over this; declaring war shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone sensible.

Personally, I'd prefer more of a middling solution. I certainly don't want to let the death eaters win, but there must be some sort of nonviolent option.

Nonviolent such as rolling over and letting them attack us? Nonsense. They don't want to negotiate.

I'm sure the Ministry has nonviolent options of some sort. Magic has a great variety of uses, most of which have nothing to do with attacking, after all.
