Essentially, I spent the entire week, including and especially at the social occasions (which ran every night after hours), networking and socialising. Getting that kind of positive feedback at a conference is an amazing feeling. More so when people you've admired come up and do the same thing to you! Validation!

Fully agree about going to conferences on your own - it really does force you to socialise and make new connections.
