So Long It's Been Fun

I wish I knew what happened to this fandom. It used to be a really nice place to hang out, talk with people who loved HP as much as you, or just general chat. True there was the occasional loon that popped up, but for the most part everyone had respect for everyone else ( Read more... )

*waves at Kristin through the revolving door--you're leaving just as I'm coming back in*

I have no idea what's been going on. But I know exactly what you mean--I said the exact same things in mid-2003, and for the second half of that year, even the words "Harry Potter" got my blood boiling. There are still certain fandomers I don't think I'll ever speak to again... which is a shame, but there you have it.

When fandom ceases to be fun, it's time to take a step back. All the best to you in 2005, and I'm sorry it's come to this. Keep in touch, because some of us were here and enjoying Potter together before there was a such thing as "wank"... and when I look at those old HP4GU posts from 2000, I remember those days fondly. No, there was never a golden age of fandom, but there used to be a time when people had civility and respect for one another...

I noticed you deleted and then undeleted your journal, and even though I know you don't write in it really (although I will note that I left the fandom and LJ has actually become more fun), but I like seeing your name and knowing that you were one of my first LJ friends, gave me my first icons, etc. So I'm glad you undeleted it.

I don't know if you still use this livejournal but...CASSIEGATE. THIS is about Cassiegate. Could you tell me WHAT is cassiegate? or what came before it? In other words, what does it have to do with Harry/hermione if anything?

Could you email me any reaply at buzzz2bunn@yahoo.com?

If this comment totally freaks you out, you can ignore it, though I'm tryning to fnind the mystery of 87 (d'you know what that is?) on sugarquill.net, and cassiegate has something to do with it.

Don't feel obligated to respond.
