Happy gushy lovely WARM pre-holidays to you all. It's raining like crazy in Seattle, and I am COLD.

Since I last posted I have movie and movie premier-y news to report on.  More later.

And I have been happily successful with pushing our health care report.  (again, you in Europe can be all ho hum about that).  My last adventure was presenting to ( Read more... )

It is snowy here, but not as cold as it was. (That is to say now it's in the twenties, going almost to thirty; before it was below zero F.) It's gloomy looking, though, just as the depth of winter the northern hemisphere ought to look, I suppose. Your post is a little glimmer on the horizon.

It sounds like there is some good news regarding your daughter's film, and that you spoke well at your presentation. AND, you are busy artistically ("firing my kiln like mad"). I am so pleased to read this!

Happy holidays, Alyon!

Thank you, Mech. I'd like a little snow, for sure. We all look forward to the possible one day of snow we get each year--as long as it's conveniently placed!! I'd love it to be on Christmas when we are all tucked inside. Seattle entirely falls apart with the slightest bit of snow--everything shuts down and no one knows how to get anywhere. But I grew up in the Eastern part of the state, where snow is the norm. I do know it can get tiresome!! And zero degrees is a bit much, I would say. I hope you keep your toes warm and your spirits up. Our rain sure can be gloomy, as well ( ... )

That's good news on the film, considering you were thinking everyone would walk away with no viewership at all. I look forward to hearing what you have to say when you post.

Yes, she's home. She's a joy to have back but she's bored, missing the sun, the sea, surfing, and her Hawaii friends. I hope she gets a job! We only decorate the inside of the house. No lights outside, I am afraid. Perhaps because we are so far north and the winters so dark, it seemed to me that people used outdoor lights a lot here, starting in November. I notice this year a distinct diminishment in outdoor lights in the neighbouring area. I don't know if this is from fuel costs, ecological concern, or getting too old to put them up!

*pets you*

MORE rain? Just what you don't need over there, argh! Public speaking is very stressful and I am impressed with your efforts.

I'll take the spiced rum for a warm glow, thank you. Happy Holidays to you too!

Thanks, much. I just love the petting. :)

And yeah, enough with the rain!! But that attitude can gets one nowhere as nothing comes of it around here!! The rain comes and it comes and that is that. Some sort of sublime acceptance may be in order? Well, maybe

Thanks re the health care. I know it's an issue very important to you, and I appreciate what you have to say about it. I am happy with the progress of our work. Today the City Council drafted a letter to the Governor in support of the legislation we want. And then I ushered another TV crew in to hear people's horror stories about health.

I've been an activist in the past--so this is not all new to me. But it's been a long time--and I'm a very grassroots, community networking sort. I don't , you know, do regular work presentations and such like that--so some of this takes getting use to. I'll update on it when things slow down a bit.

Be warm and good!!! Spiced rum for all!!

Aye, will do!

Merry Christmas to you and your family, dear Alyon! I wrap some of the sunbeams that spoil us over here (it's freezing cold though) and send them to you. :-)

*hugs*
