Sean Astin slash My husband

;)
Like that title? (heh heh)

So I was at work yesterday (starts the narrative), which is normally my husband's day. But husband had important things to do; he was an alternate at the district democratic caucus, held in the high school up the street. This is the caucus that is the next step up from precinct caucus. After this, there is a state ( Read more... )

Yeah, he does. From reading his book, I can see how he might also be difficult to deal with at times--though very well-intended. I think in the book he alluded to political ambitions--I wonder if we'll see him make moves in that direction in the future? I'm glad he is out and about, doing the work he does and keeping involved. I know he campaigned in the last presidential election, as well.

This was such a funny annecdote, Alyon. And encouraging. It's so good to see people willing to talk together about important things in a civil way. I, too, hate the behaviour going on inhouse. I am deeply afraid it will cost us the election. ('Us' being the Democrats, of course *g*)

Me too!!! It's very unappealing seeing people becoming so hateful and thoughtless. And in what way does it help us in the end? I personally have gone back and forth between the two democratic candidates for a number of reasons. I'd rather stay positive about both of them, as either one of them will promote social issues, and international issues so much better than what McCain will do.

Hey, that's pretty cool! I thought it was gonna have something to do with the movie star in your family, but with Sean, any political event is a good second bet it seems.

I don't get the way the two Democratic campaigns are going either. Ultimately they ought to be united, and telling us why they're not McCain, but instead they're pounding on each other. And looking pretty stupid for it unfortunately.

yeah, and the followers are the worst of it. People who used to be cozy with one another and who liked both candidates have gotten so horribly hostile on both sides, though I hear more Hilary bashing from progressive radio hosts than the other way around. Making a choice, I can see that. But who is it helping to do the bashing? I know it happens on both sides. I hoped we could rise above such things, since there is very little difference in the policies and there are wonderful people supporting each candidate. And yes, focus on McCain!!!!!
