Not long to go

Dave and I are in nesting mode. Baby's cotbed and moses basket are all ready for him. We've arranged all his toys and the cute little mobile for him. All sheets are ironed and clothes have been washed. Nappies are ready, TENS machine ordered and some last minute stuff has been done. Now, it is a wait and see game. He is due 26 July, but I think it ( Read more... )

hello :)

to be honest the epidural insertion isn't that bad, and if you are at risk of a C the earlier the better cos if they decide to do it they wont hang about. Its one less thing to prep. Just sit very still and its over before you know it. They know what they're doing ;o)
/voe.
I never really had time to nest as such, with the planned induction. I kinda got it afterwards.

Heya! I know Dave has been texting you. He is a ball of nerves!

I know that the early epidural is a necessary evil...however, I have some phobias...a needle near my spine is one, messing around with my eyes (a reason why I never got corrective laser surgery) and being cut open while aware of it. So, this will take a lot of will power to sit still, but I know it will be best in case of a c-section.

I never knew you had a planned induction!

regards the c-section, honestly don't worry. To be honest by that point (IF you have to have one) you'll just want it to be over. You'll have so much adrenaline and prescribed drugs going through you you really wont feel it. You won't see anything as you're screened. It takes 5 min tops. Its weird but as said it will be minor compared to the anticipation that you're about to meet your child at last. Focus on that at that stage. Chatting to the staff helps, the team I had were VERY good. Of course this is a last case scenario so try not to worry about it at all. IF it happens it feels at that point like its the best course (as they won't do it until medically necessary) and quite frankly you'll just want it over with and meet him already... plus Dave will have to scrub up in a blue disposable suit. That alone will make you smile ( ... )

I am trying not to flip over the c-section. I think I am more freaked over the epidural. They want to do an early one because of all the weight I gained, but also because my breasts have gone from a 34G to a 38K!!! I never knew they came in that size!!! I was told that to do a general anaesethesia would be too risky because of them and the weight gain.

Dave and his mother will be there for the birth. My friend, Steph, may come down, but I think she will be in the waiting area. Dave has kept himself to himself due to the anxiety and he seems to want to remain close to home and me. He is so worried something will happen to me and said he just wants the baby on the other side and then he can relax. He has been like this throughout the whole pregnancy.

I just want the pregnancy done and over with. I am grateful for my baby, but why can't a stork deliver it? :D

That is weird with picking a birthdate for the baby! I forgot you had the GD. Has that been sorted now? I know you were due for a test.

I am glad you think it was quick! I feel like I have been pregnant for half my life. And now that my dyed hair is growing out, I see I have more gray hairs than ever! My son is ageing me before he is even born!

Dave will be spreading the news once he is over the initial shock, I am sure. He is just a ball of nerves. I hope he doesn't pass out or something!

"So, an eviction notice has been served on our son. He is not allowed to stay in longer than 26 July because his mommy wants her body back!"

You want to be careful; if you fit a padlock to stop him moving back in, Dave might complain!

Hey, but Dave is getting used to suffering...if I suffer, he suffers. I think that is very fair! :D
