The gaming convention was this weekend. It was very poorly attended, but we barely made enough money that we can put it on again next year. Hopefully we’ll be able to advertise better next year and get more people. I ran one session of “Kobolds Ate My Baby!” on Saturday which was fun.

Sunday I discovered that we have no internet. SBC says that

The guy who owns the game shop is one of our good friends and he's a good guy, however, he's a little uninformed about how the SCA works. And a little brash. We love him though.
Master Alan Fairfax is living in the area and is ministering at a church up there. So, they have two peers (Alan and Constance Fairfax) that should be able to help guide the situation *if* they're involved.
The last time we talked to Ken (the game shop guy) he was wanting to make this something very community oriented. Ken's wife Dixie... is a strong personality who wants stuff available for kids in the community.
Go over the SCA structure and make sure they understand what they're getting into. Let me know if you need some insight or moral support.

I'm not sure how involved Fairfax is going to be. He indicated that Constance is busy with other things, so her involvement would be low. I had been hoping that Ken knew a little more about the SCA, since I'm expecting everyone else to be extremely green. Since he doesn't, I'm nervous about making them understand what they're getting into. He was very nice, though, and he seemed fairly grounded. I'm also afraid there is already a pissing match brewing over who's going to be Seneschal...

I wish we had known about the spring offensive sooner than friday night! I would have been ALL over that! It's been YEARS since I've been to a spring offensive (I mean as in like 14 years)I would love to help out with next year! Let me know what you think of the group tomorrow if you guys are at practice. good luck with your internet problem!
