Reasons and Intent

There’s a reason behind every action. Sometimes the reason can seem stupid, crazy, and convoluted, and sometimes the reason makes perfect sense, but there is a reason for every action. I'm gonna actually have to disagree with you. At least in my experience I've had a lot more people take the actions for granted without questioning the motives. Maybe I'm just a cynical prejudiced bitch but I believe that no action should be taken completely at face value. Too many people take advantage of the good nature and the trust in other people. I can't count the number of stories I've heard about women driving on their own who get a flat tire and some guy pulls over supposedly to help them but basically ends up sexually assaulting them. There are too many bad people in the world for me to trust someone's intentions to be true at face value. If someone does something nice for me it better be (a) my birthday or (b) because something bad happened to me and i need it or (c) in conjunction with some kind of group that i know is trustworthy. I'm sorry but there is just too much bad shit in this world. Sure there's a lot of good done. But verifying the intentions of that good deed is not gonna make the good deed any worse. If ( ... )

Interesting point--one I knew was bound to be brought up. The woman driving thing doesn't work as an example though in reference to what I'm talking to because the pulling over is not the good action--it would be fixing her tire and getting her on her way which would be the good action. I'll be damned if the guy fixed her tire, she thanked him politely, and then when that was all said and done he raped her ( ... )
