Tonight I am Socrates' interlocutor in the marketplace.

So I would ask him, not in my own words,

"If only pure sweetness was offered, why's this bitter taste left in my mouth?"

And he would clear his throat, and, with that particular Socrates gleam in his tiny little eye, respond,

"If I could catch my breath, just to exhale, I'd know, that I, ...knew the answer to that question.."
