I should be a makeup critic. In fact, I think I will.
masceras
OK, the best mascera out there that I've tried is defiantly Lancome. I had 3 test tubes of the DÉFINICILS (high definition) and I used all of it until the last drop. Doesn't clump AT ALL and very easy to put on. It's 21.50$ or 22.00$ depending on where you buy it. I know Belks has it on sale right now. The BX also has it and it's cheaper, so if you have military connections, I recommend you pay them :) I know it's pricey for mascera, but it's worth it♥
The second best would have to be the professional mascera from Covergirl. It's not as good as Lancome, but it's up there. It's about 3.00$ a tube and sold most everywhere. It clumps sometimes, but they're easy to get out i.e. swipe thru lash again.
The one I'm using right now is Rimmel super lash. It's messy to out on and clumps sometimes, but it looks good I guess. It's about 2.00$ a tube and if that's your last resort, then yeah...
The WORST EVER is Maybelline's high volume. It's in a blue bottle and it just...is messy. It's terrible. It's messy, hard to get off if you smear it and also clumps a lot. Just avoid it at all costs. It sucks.
foundation
I haven't found a foundation that is worthy of being called the best. Few have come close and some are impossible to match to skin tone.
You could always spend 30$ on a tuble of liquid foundation at Merle Norman, but those are hard to put on. You need a special brush that you can supposedly only purchase at Merle Norman, but I found a fanned paint brush works just as well. The feel is much different from say..Covergirl or M.A.C. The texture is better and doesn't rub off on your hands. It is hard to take off if you didn't purchase the cleansing lotion with the foundation, but any good astringent would work..along with about 6 cottonballs.
The one I've been using is the Ultimate Finish liquid foundation by Covergirl. It's 5.00$-6.00$ for the thing and sold most everywhere. There isn't a refill, so you need to purchase the entire thing again if you run out. The colors are fairly easy to match with your skin tone, but it sucks when you know your skin tone for one makeup company, but not another. Can't tones be universal?
Maybelline...oyyy. The liquid stuff I just don't mess with. I'm mostly afraid of having one side darker than the other. Other relible sources don't use it either. So I have nothing to comment on :\
Neutrogena is developed by dermatologists so you know it won't clog your pores. I personally haven't used it, but one of my good friends tells me it's good if you have a problem with acne. So I do reccommend it. We all have problems with acne, so why do we want to clog our pores more? It is a bit pricey, but it lasts.
That's all I'm doing for now. I'll update this list with M.A.C and Revlon when I return from work.
