It's ok, I will slip Moran some magic muffins so that all he will be able to see after he eats them is rainbows and dancing unicorns. Hopefully then, he won't be able to focus his sniper gun properly on John Watson XD.
Another intriguing chapter from you! You have a real knack for building up the suspense brilliantly and getting us readers to want to throw something at the computer for the evil cliffhangers you leave us with each time hahaha :P. Looking forward to Sherlock's next move :).
P.S. I've actually experienced sleep paralysis before. I guess it tends to happen when I'm really tired and feels really weird not being able to move. When I realise it's happening to me, I just tell my brain "might as well let me go back to sleep properly mate" :P. Has it happened to you before? ;)

Oh, god, when I wrote the cliffhanger I was pretty much just ahh, no, I can't leave it there. They will find me, and they will skinnnnnn me.
Initially chapters 8 and 9 were going to be just ONE chapter, but I had to split it in two due to length and content. I still needed to conclude the chapter with the premise of the next one, though, so lo, a cliffhanger was borne :D
At least next chapter's going to be fairly interesting in terms of plot proceeding, if the writing will go to plan and I won't have to split the chapter again. Guh.
Oh and yeah, I did get sleep paralyses loads of time when I was in the army. Back then, interval sleeping was all the rage, so I was pretty much stressed and tired all the time. I saw all sorts of weird crap, like ghosts and monsters, but by then I was sort of already familiar with it. I always KNEW that I was still dreaming, so it pissed me off more than anything. \O/

And, damn, evil ending! Will be awaiting the next part eagerly.

My God, John, John is... difficult. You are right that it's part prejudice on his part, part reluctance to see Sherlock as a victim.
He did spend the last three years coping with the memory of Sherlock which he hyped up to be bigger than life - that's what we *do* to the people we love after death - so all of a sudden getting hints and trying to come to terms with a Sherlock who's been "weak" (and here John's perceptions are coming into play again, obviously) that's just unacceptable.
Whelp. It's getting kind of late and I'm already sleep deprived. I hope the above made some sort of sense. I <3 meta.
Thanks a lot for your lovely feedback :)
