[The whole thing is fairly awkward. Rose is sort of sitting on the arm of the chair, leaning against the Doctor a bit while he works. It's not as if she can go anywhere else. It was funny, novel when he woke her up that morning pointing out the handcuffs. It was still amusing at mid morning but at this point it's gotten a bit irritating. She's trying not to react with irritation. She loves being near the Doctor and probably wouldn't have wandered that far from him even without the handcuffs, but she'd have the freedom to go to the loo, curl up in the hammock and watch him from a distance. All this forced closeness is nerve wracking.]

What? Yeah. [She turns a bit into him and sets the bottle of banana liquor that seems like an excellent idea at this moment on the table.] What you need me to hold?

[He hands her the tool in his other hand and then moves their joined hands to so he can hold a small thing in place while he picks up something else.] Just there. On top of this. Where'd you get that?

[She goes to work on the bit that he wants her to work with, answering a bit distractedly because she's concentrating.] Kitchen, when you were makin' tea. Thought we'd have banana daquiris some time. Just haven't gotten 'round to makin' 'em.

Banana daquiris! I haven't had any of those since, oh, roundabout 1740? Can you turn that just - [The little thing is well secured now and he uses the hand handcuffed to hers to turn hers a little bit] here, ta. And bananas! I doubt all the potassium'll be there but they're still delicious.

[There's a caw of amusement, though no laugh. ...Janine's kind of fallen out of the habit of projecting laughter. She'd talked to Rose the day before, and that's the one she's looking at out of one eye.]

Trouble with a curse, I'm suspecting, given that nothing that should reasonably get these handcuffs off has actually managed to get these handcuffs off.

I can see that. There've been a few times when it would have been helpful not to have thumbs, but that wrist idea is a better alternative. It's far more often that it's much better to have thumbs than not.
