[The Device switches on, and the Doctor's face quickly comes into focus.] The Weeping Angels - by now you've all noticed the danger there, just don't take your eyes off them, even for a second. Don't take a photo of them, or film them, or anything. I'm setting up a perimetre around the Torchwood hub, you need to come down here. We'll put you in one ( Read more... )

[Rose is already at the hub with the Doctor. She's trying to set up the rooms so that when people do start arriving things will be ready for them. She's also very worried and trying to keep a cheerful face about it. She has faith in the Doctor. She knows he will fix this but she worries about the toll it will take on him and the people they'll lose.]

I've got a few of the rooms airin' out already. Beds folded down that sorta thing. Can I help with anythin' else?

Double check that all the CCTV is turned off, and bring me the video tapes. And see if you can find - ohhhh, anything, anything, think, think, long and osey.. long and o-- OH find me some bubblegum. Much as you can. And anything metal shaped like a pyramid that doesn't look like it's already part of something important.

Gotcha. [She'll disappear for a while, double checking all the TV's and piling up the video tapes. Those get put in a pile next to what the Doctor is working on before she disappears to find some of the other things. They're a bit more difficult. She finds a length of tubing underneath a sink--it was probably functioning as something important but this is likely to be a good bit more important. Metal pyramids come from various pieces of machinery including but not limited to an alarm clock--she just brings the entire pyramid shaped clock thinking it might have bits he can use. The bubble gum requires a good deal of rummaging through drawers and she feels a bit like it's prying. She comes up with a couple of packs though. It all gets piled into a box and carried into the main room where the Doctor is working.]

All right. I came up with a few things thought maybe you could use. [She puts the box down and sits next to him, watching.]

You're going to try direct questioning it them?

No. I haven't had much success with that sort of thing in the past, and I'm not sure that third time's really the charm in this particular instance. I'm just going to see what I can do to make sure we've always got eyes on them.

Pity, the results could have been interesting. Far as I know, no one's ever sat a curse down and integrated it.

I see - no pun intended, Doctor.

Well they'd be very hard to talk to considering they can't move when you watch them for a reply, and if you talk to them in the dark they just come up and kill you.

Are you coming to the hub?

Huh. [Janine blinks deliberately now, but only with her semitransparent third eyelids.]

Guess I should ask if you can use me. I've got a wide field of view, I can close my eyes and still see, and I can fly. Pretty useless in the dark, though.

Well if you're already safe then don't put yourself in danger just yet. I don't know if you can fit in the hub, but if you can fly without blinking, it may help to patrol for anyone in the City who needs help.

I've never got a good look at this hub, so I don't know.

Sure. Can't exactly hover or turn on a dime, though.

They're hardly a danger to someone like me. More like pests, really.

In which case I would kindly ask you to stay put and leave the space for others. What, precisely, does someone like you call themselves? In the most unobtrusive but pointed way possible.

Whatever the Torchwood hub is, I want to be there.

Where are you? I can try and get your device to remote link on to the location and lead you here.
