While missing a pill does raise your chances of pregnancy slightly, it's not by that much, and your placebo week isn't over yet. Work stress, illness, and so on can also cause hiccups. I would give it at least to the end of your placebo week before worrying. Even then, when you've been on birth control pills a while it isn't unusual to just miss a period now and then. If you're really worried, you can do a pregnancy test, which should be accurate 14 days after intercourse. I'd wait until the end of the week though, again - no point in wasting the money for a test :)

It's concerning because I've never skipped a period on the pill (or otherwise) and even when I've been depressed or stressed in the past, I don't remember my period coming this late in the week. But I've also recently turned 30 and for whatever reason, I notice my body doing things a little bit differently (weight distribution, changes in skin), so that makes me wonder if my body is changing and reacting to even more things in a different way.

Thanks for this, I appreciate your comments.

That could well be, as our bodies do change as we get older. I'm just edging into pre-menopause, and get to play "pregnant or body stupid?" ever other month or so! Anyway, I wouldn't fret too much about it now.

Thanks. I'm definitely not in a position to be pregnant, so I'm doing a lot of fretting - although I'm trying not to!
