Well, we filed for Chapter 11 a little over a week ago. Our 2nd scheduled auction date is tomorrow, but the attorney says that everything is fine. I won't know whether or not our definitions of fine match until after tomorrow. A part of me feels liberated, but a part of me is still terrified. The word "Fail" has special significance at my current place of employment. When someone makes a mistake, they don't goof, screw up, or mess up. They FAIL. The caps are inferred for emphasis. This has happened before, and will happen again. Someday, I will have the courage, and the means to break the cycle when it does, rather than scream myself hoarse. Better to spit into the rage of a cyclone than to be optimistic about change occurring in the box that I trap myself in.

Well, the power has been off for a week and 2 days now. My sisters check cleared, so she could pay her mortgage payment, but then I couldn't pay the electric bill, so here we are. Stuck until 10/31, when I get paid and can pony up the dough to bring us back into civilization ( Read more... )

Well, we didn't lose the car, yay. I owe my sister, and I'm hoping I'll be able to pay her on Wednesday. The phone has also been turned back off, because the last payment bounced, so we'll have to fix that. Freefall. Still coughing stuff up, with uncontrollable fits of coughing on occasion.

I missed the party today, and last weekend. We've been dealing with gas money and sickness issues this week, and I've been feeling crappy enough to have missed the last 3 days of work.
