Something about this phrasing really amuses me. How does a famine just begin? Like, did all the Ethiopians simultaneously wake up one morning, look around and go, "Oh fuck us! We're so totally out of food! I knew we should have taken advantage of Safeway's two-for-one canned vegetable promo!"
