What's funny/sad is that I read this after coming home in that exact same state and immediately ordering from Soho Café, despite the healthier options in my fridge. (Waiting on my eggplant parm now!)
I think you need to post recipes for the muffins and the parsnip soup, unless they're in that cookbook you have that I bought after asking you for some recipes from there. I want to say lentil something?
Muffins/bread is here: http://www.teeniecakes.com/2010/05/carrot-zucchini-muffins-with-candied-ginger/ - I didn't use the walnuts. I have made it with all regular flour (a slightly cake-like texture) and with the 2 cups regular / 1 cup whole wheat (slightly drier/denser but still awesome). I found that the cooking times in the recipe were quite a bit too short, but that might have something to do with using too big a loaf pan. :P

Funny you should say that. That's how I found Soho Café in the first place. I was craving falafel one day, but was also feeling lazy, so I searched online to see if any Greek places delivered. I've ordered from there so many times now, the guy knows me. Embarrassing!
I also found out that Falafel King *supposedly* delivers, but every time I've called they've claimed they had no delivery guy that night and they offered a free dessert if I came to pick it up myself. I think they're calling me fat. ;-)
I would suggest that you need more protein in your breakfast and in your snacks often. Since I started having egg whites or nonfat greek yogurt at breakfast, I've had a lot less hunger problems when I get home in the evening. Protein leaves you feeling full for longer, and if that happens then you will eat less when you get home.
It sounds like you are putting really good things in to your body. However, they are things your body will burn through pretty quickly. Would it be workable for you to put a bag of almonds in the car? I have done this and it keeps me from inhaling the whole jar of Nutella upon returning home.
I was actually thinking about stashing almonds in the car as I drove home hungry again the next day. Specifically, little portioned containers of almonds so I don't absentmindedly eat a whole bag/jar while I drive. :P
