I found you through a comment at wvu, and this piece cracked me up.

I was married for about 10 years to a guy who used to make these sort of asides about his own growing-up experiences (his extended family are all NY jews), and until i met most of them at his sister's Bat Mitzvah, i thought he was exaggerating.
