Fic research is great; it fulfills all my research desires, and the answers are attainable, unlike a great deal of the research I do in my day job...

Is the TV in the corner on the outer wall side of the kitchen doorway, or on the other side of the kitchen doorway, against the bit of wall between the kitchen doorway and the hall doorway?

I'm thinking it's the latter, because otherwise it's awfully far away from the couch. But if it is the latter, then why can't two people watch it from the couch?

Conclusion: no.

Wow, don't let fanon hear you say that.

I tend to picture the layout of the living room kind of different from what it actually is, anyway.

Outer side of the kitchen wall. Here, I went and found a screenshot to confirm. I agree that the latter makes slightly more sense as a room layout in the abstract, though.

Wow, don't let fanon hear you say that.

Yeah, when I said that I didn't think it was possible, Leigh said, "That never stopped anybody in any story ever."

We've also had very involved conversations about what John's Invisible Bedroom looks like in our heads. And we spent the entirety of ASiB figuring out where Sherlock's bedroom is.

Have you seen this and this?

You've seen most of the cool stuff, it seems, so probably. As far as 221b layout references go, they're pretty wonderful.

Except Leigh is now looking at screencaps with me, and arguing that you could look at the TV from the couch just by turning it a little. I say the screen would be too small at that distance.

THINKING TOO MUCH ABOUT PROP PLACEMENT: WHAT FANDOM IS.
