We currently have air temps of -6.2 (it was -9 when we went to bed last night). I don't even want to think about the wind chill. We've been told to stay inside unless you must be out. Brrrrrrr!
Oh, I wish it was that warm. It's -14 here (central Illinois, and has been at least -10 for two days); I just heard from a friend in Minneapolis that it's -20). Iused to say that there wasn't any difference when it got to single digits; I was wrong!
That's not counting the wind chill...
(to top thinhs off, the electric grid blew up yesterday and took six hours to fix. A quarter of the county was without power. Thank heaven we weren't in that quarter!)
I was seriously thinking of going in to the elementary school to shelve books again today... just to "get warm" (the kids' ES's media center has the heating/cooling system right above it - so it's always chilly in the cooling period, always overly warm in the winter... though not *quite* as bad as it was about 4 years ago)
